Have you been - like me- an emotional roller coaster since the beginning of the pandemic? Stressed, busy, excited, then bored, happy, alone….We are also more attentive to our emotions, being faced with our thoughts. Positive side: Having more time to take care of ourselves! Good thing for us our US lab has developed 6 new prototypes to go along with our emotions, helping us to feel good & look good!

Today, emotions are seen as bad. In today’s society, it’s not generally good to express emotions in public. Emotions have to be “managed”, “controlled”,... so negative!
But we start to realize the power of emotions! Blocking emotions has been proven to be bad for mental or physical health. Stress has even negative impact on physical wellbeing and inflammatory skin diseases (such as psoriasis and atopic eczema) [1].
In order to evaluate global happiness in our world, researchers are now evaluating feelings and emotions, because traditional economic indicators are not enough to characterize wellbeing.
Emotions are useful: they motivate us to make decisions (to be happy for example), to take action or even help us avoid danger (that’s what the fear is for!). They also allow people to understand each other, and are the reasons why Emoticons were born. People need to be more “expressive” of their emotions, convey their true feelings, even in a digital world.
Do you know that 7 in 10 Americans (71%) use visual expressions such as emojis, stickers or GIFs when texting or using mobile messaging apps? That’s because 77% of them believe their thoughts and feelings will be better understood than with words.
In a society where we start to listen and express more our feelings, consumers are going towards products and brands that understand their feelings & lifestyles, provide positive emotions and help them to feel good.
